Have you heard...
You can now download audio books from the comfort of your own home - how cool is that? Don't ask me about the detail though because although I attended a presentation about it I was rather distracted by the charming Gordon Griffin and didn't pay as much attention as I should have.
I can certainly recommend getting hold of some of Gordon's narrations as he is truly fabulous!

Ah yes, slight technical hitch apparently. Those more in the know than me (hard to believe isn't it?), offer the following advice:
The service does work if you have registered at your library. However a new glitch has appeared at the manual download point. This is being investigated by the company who provide the service but in the interim if you click on the text manual download rather than the picture this seems to work. Otherwise try the following.
The following information has been supplied by the service suppliers
To stop the information bar from blocking file and software downloads
* Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Start button , and then clicking Internet Explorer
* Click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options
* Click the Security tab, click on the Internet Zone (Earth) and then click on Custom level
Do both of the following:
* To turn off the Information bar for ActiveX controls, scroll to the ActiveX controls and plug-ins section of the list, and then, under Automatic prompting for ActiveX controls, click Enable
* To turn off the Information bar for file downloads, scroll to the Downloads section of the list, and then, under Automatic prompting for file downloads, click Enable
* Click OK, click Yes to confirm that you want to make the change, and then click OK again
* Close the web browser and then restart it again.
